National Change of Address
Every year approximately forty million Americans move their place of residence and/or business, but their old addresses often remain in mailer's databases. As a result, mailings continue to go to old addresses and not the new ones. It is estimated that at least 8% of all mail is undeliverable because of incorrect addresses. This means lost opportunities, lost sales, and wasted money.
When you mail with First Impressions, we run your mailing list through the National Change of Address (NCOA) program to help reduce undeliverable or duplicate mail pieces. The database contains approximately 48 months of permanent address changes. Address change information is derived from the PS Form 3575 (Change-of-Address Order) filed by relocating postal customers.
Performing this update on a list saves you money on printing and postage by updating a list. Studies have shown that this service can save users a significant cost of their mailings (in many cases up to 15% or more) plus help increase response rates. NOTE: The post office does not forward bulk mail to the new address - they just recycle it.
The cost is a penny per updated record. Due to postal regulations and USPS privacy rules, a Tax ID is required in order for us to create the NCOA account.
Once the new addresses are updated, we will return the updated file to you in your desired format, of course, so that you can keep your list clean.
